James Hensel

MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, CEN

Mr. Hensel has experience working with clients living with mental health concerns including, but not limited to, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, insomnia, schizophrenia, and other trauma-related issues that are in crisis, residential living, and outpatient services throughout central and southern Alabama.

Mr. Hensel has worked in several emergency departments as a registered nurse, including a psychiatric emergency department, which fueled his passion for psychiatric care. Mr. Hensel is a Navy veteran and retired Army officer.
In addition to being a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Mr. Hensel is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Mr. Hensel is a Certified Emergency Nurse.

Mr. Hensel is an active member of the Alabama State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.
Mr. Hensel has privileges at Jackson Hospital, Mizell Hospital, and Baptist East Hospital. Mr. Hensel provides care for the following units: Psychiatric Assessment Center, Infinite Horizons Stabilization Unit, and Carastar Crisis Center.

Mr. Hensel provides outpatient coverage for South Central Alabama Mental Health Clinics and Urgent Care.
